Public Conversation Hub
Group Description
The “CORE Languages Community Hub” is designed to be a collaborative space where members of the CORE Languages community can propose, discuss, and vote on new forum topics and ideas. The primary goal is to ensure that the forums evolve to meet the changing interests and needs of the language learning community, encouraging active participation and engagement.
How It Works:
The Community Hub Wiki is designed as a knowledge base for how to use the CORE Languages Community Hub, which includes, your News Feed, Groups page and Digital Courses page. This Wiki is also an ideal setting for submitting improvements to the Community Hub Platform.
- Idea Submission:
- Members can submit new ideas for group topics or enhancements to existing groups.
- Each submission requires a brief description, outlining the purpose of the proposed forum and how it would benefit the CORE Languages community.
- Discussion Phase:
- Once an idea is submitted, it enters a discussion phase where community members can ask questions, suggest modifications, and discuss the merits and potential challenges of the idea.
- This phase is crucial for refining ideas and gauging community interest.
- Voting System:
- After a discussion period, ideas are put to a vote.
- Members can upvote ideas they support. Downvoting is typically discouraged to maintain a positive atmosphere; instead, constructive feedback is encouraged.
- Threshold for Launch:
- Ideas that receive a certain number of upvotes (the threshold) within a specified timeframe are considered for implementation.
- The threshold ensures that only ideas with significant community support move forward.
- Review and Implementation:
- Ideas that meet the threshold are reviewed by the CORE Languages team to ensure feasibility and alignment with the platform’s goals.
- Approved ideas are developed and launched as new forums or enhancements to existing forums.
Features:
- Idea Tracking: Each idea has its own thread where the submission, discussion, and votes are transparently tracked.
- Leaderboard: A leaderboard highlights the most active contributors and the most popular ideas, encouraging participation.
- Feedback Loop: Implementers of the idea are encouraged to provide updates and feedback to the community, fostering a sense of ownership and involvement.
Community Guidelines:
- Constructive Feedback: Encourage positive, constructive feedback to foster a supportive environment.
- Inclusivity: Ideas should aim to be inclusive, catering to a diverse range of languages and learner levels.
- Originality: Encourage unique, innovative ideas that add value to the CORE Languages community.
This forum would not only empower users to shape their learning environment but also foster a sense of community and collaboration. It’s a dynamic way to ensure that the platform remains responsive and relevant to its users’ needs.
