Michaela Ruppert Smith is a Swiss and American bilingual speaker of German and English. She has an M.A. and PhD in interdisciplinary German Studies as well as Life Teaching Certification in German, French, History, Religion and Philosophy from the State of California. Michaela has some 40 years of experience as a German. English. and Humanities teacher at various U.S. and Swiss colleges and universities. She spent 10 years teaching at elite International Baccalaureate schools in Switzerland and one year in Italy. She began teaching German and English for Core languages in 2016 while also teaching German language and literature at the College of Charleston. She is also an experienced translator of current and ancestral documents and correspondence. Outside of work or often as part of work, her passion is traveling.
